CHILDREN'S THEATER DIRECTING WORKSHOP OPPORTUNITY!

RAHS Drama is hiring a visiting professional artist from the Minneapolis Children's Theater Company to conduct a free 2-part student directing workshop for up to 21 students interested in developing and directing a Children's Theater show for the 2010 spring season or any season in the 2010-2011 school year. Whether that involves using a published script, adapting a favorite fairy tale or working to develop your own script, the workshop is for students who want to take the initiative and develop their skills and vision with an artist who works in professional children's theater. Our intention is that Children's Theater will grow as a student-run program and will include training and developing student leaders for the following year. If this workshop is a success, it may become an annual spring event that helps drama leaders plan ahead for the next year's season. Directing a play would be a great addition to any college resume!

Anton Jones, who'll be running the directing workshops, not only works as an educator for Children's Theater Company, Mixed Blood Theatre, Penumbra Theatre AND the Guthrie, but is an accomplished playwright, director, actor, composer/sound designer, hip-hop artist, and dramaturg. We are really lucky to have him as a guest artist!

Improv. Troupe performs in the Nielsen Auditorium January 15th and March 11th at 7pm

Tickets are $1- what a deal!
