About Sra. Roberta

¡Hola Amigos!

I love teaching at Parkview as the Spanish Culture and Language teacher for grades K-6. I had been a Parkview parent for 16 years and have deep roots in this community. My love of culture comes from my personal background, Mexican American, as well as times of living and traveling in other countries. I taught school in Paraguay for a year and traveled throughout South America during my time there. I have also traveled extensively throughout Europe. As a family, we have lived in Mexico, traveled in Central America, lived in Norway and traveled together in Europe, as well. I also worked for several years with International Students at the University of Minnesota, which furthered my education and experience in intercultural understanding.

So, with a broad and varied background, I introduce students to Spanish culture and teach the language at Parkview. I hope that this time also enables students to understand and think about their own heritage and see themselves as global citizens, which is part of our school mission. For more information on the Spanish Program at PCS, see the document entitled: About PCS Spanish Program on the K-6 Spanish website. Please feel free to contact me with any thoughts, questions, or comments. Sra. Roberta Hernandez Rasmussen Spanish Culture and Language Teacher, K-6
