RAMS Gifted and Talented Program (GATE)


2011-2012 school year

*Parent meeting GTAC meeting-to be announced in August 2011

SEGE-Is an opportunity for identified gifted students to attend meetings to discuss a variety of issues that gifted students encounter, find challenging, are curious about or just to talk through issues that need time to process. SEGE group is optional and students can attend on a regular basis or when a topic or session is of interest to them. They will receive that info by attending SEGE or this web page under SEGE.

Mon: Creative Writing/Book Nook; Tues: SEGE-7th grade; Wed: 7/8 mix; Thurs: SEGE -8th grade; Fri: GT AVID students

Mon-Fri- throughout school day-Mrs. Bogenholm meets with individual students on an as needed basis: organization, failing grades, executive functioning, curriculum needs

Future Problem Solving and other programs- sign up in Sept.



 


The RAMS GATE Lead Teacher, Tana Bogenholm, represents RAMS Middle School on theGifted and Talented Advisory Council, along with RAMS GTAC Parentrepresentative Victoria Hopwood.

Tana Bogenholm is also the GATE Resource Specialist at RAMS, and supports all identified students academically and leads (SEGE) Social Emotional Gifted Enrichment groups weekly. She also is the middle school's AVID Coordinator and elective teacher as well as coordinates RAMS TOPS program.

The GATE Resource Specialist/ Lead Teacher and GTAC Parent Representative are interested in hearing your opinion regarding gifted education issues and would be happy to hear from you.
