Welcome to Emmet D. Williams Kindergarten!

Welcome to the EDW Kindergarten program. At EDW we celebrate the joy of learning by inviting creativity, curiosity, and communication into our daily experiences. We embrace diversity and individuality and are committed to ensuring an equitable and respectful educational experience for all students.

Through our curriculum we maintain high expectations for all, resulting in kindergartners achieving at their highest level. The arts are infused into the curriculum and become the vehicle by which we teach through. By using music, drama, and art we enrich our students understanding of the content being studied. Our curriculum lends itself to offer multiple learning opportunities for all children. Success for one may look very different than for another, we believe that all children will grow at EDW!

Themes The themes offer ways to reach the academic skills that need to be acquired in kindergarten. Our themes include: *Our Basic Needs (physical and emotional needs) *Who We All Are (all about me) *Festival of Lights (embracing all cultures) *Our Place in the World (Minnesota and the United States) *Sharing the Planet (animals and their environment)

It is truly rewarding to be part of a school and community that offers so much support and commitment to their children. We look forward to meeting you and your child! Sincerely, Lindsey Fields (lindsey.fields@isd623.org), Elizabeth Foerster (elizabeth.foerster@isd623.org), and Ashli Fox (ashli.fox@isd623.org
